Introducing the new Audio Limited A10-Rack 4-Slot Wireless Receiver Enclosure!

The A10-Rack is a Dante-enabled enclosure that accepts up to four slot-in, dual channel wireless microphone receivers. It offers power and antenna distribution, accommodates up to eight channels of analog and/or digital audio via XLR connectors and includes an eight-channel Dante audio interface.

Most unislot and SuperSlotâ„¢ receivers are compatible, including the Audio Limited A10-RX and Wisycom and Lectrosonics slot receivers. Each receiver outputs analog or AES and Dante signals simultaneously or, if the receiver supports it, can be set to output analog or AES individually.

The A10-Rack features antenna distribution with bias power for active antennas. It also features pass-through capability to cascade two A10-Racks for a total of sixteen channels.

The A10-Rack occupies one rack-unit and is ideal for cart-based workflows and productions that require integration with a full Dante audio network. Adjustable rack ears allow the unit to be set to three different depths.

Firmware 2.0 for the Audio Limited A10 transmitter is available now, adding simultaneous time code recording and transmitting for balanced mics and line-level inputs, as well as some other bug fixes and improvements.

The A10-TX transmitter includes an integrated digital recorder with a precision time code generator. The recording feature will work with boom microphones and other balanced microphones and line-level signals, but is not available with lavalier microphones in the US.

An internal microSD card in the transmitter stores audio data in proprietary .mic format. The free Mic-to-WAV utility for Mac OS and Windows converts .mic files into industry-standard broadcast WAV files with time code.

The Wide World of Wideband Wireless

The Wide World of Wideband Wireless

Investing in wideband wireless is one of the best ways to protect yourself against the upcoming FCC spectrum auction (and goodness-knows-what-else in the future). Fortunately, the US market has seen a remarkable expansion in available systems over the last two years and you'll have a lot of options when shopping for your next kit. Here's a chart of how their frequency bands correspond with a selection of wideband units below:
