Designed for wet or dusty environments, the WM transmitter features O-ring sealed battery compartments and input jack, a compression sealed antenna port and gasket sealed control panel and back cover. Dual AA batteries provide twice the operating time of earlier watertight transmitter designs. Larger membrane switches and control panel and a highly visible, backlit LCD enhance the user interface.
The VT500WATER is a waterproof version (IPX-7 certificated) of the VT500 lavalier microphone. With a dynamic range from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, a complete mapping of the relevant frequency spectrum is possible. The slight accentuation of the speech frequencies ensures that the voice reproduction is faithful to the original. The low intrinsic noise also contributes to the excellent sound quality. The microphone capsule is RF protected. This enables a particularly flexible use both in broadcast and live areas as well as at sporting events.
Due to a special molding injection treatment the microphone can even be temporarily situated completely under water, without taking any damage. With the IPX7 certification, the microphone can even be completely in the water for a while without being damaged. This enables a special flexible use in studio broadcasts and location shoots, or even at sports events. In addition, the microphone is rugged and shockproof, and the flexible cable has excellent isolation from handling noise.
Starting in 2017, the 617-652 MHz and 663-698 MHz frequencies are being transitioned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Users of wireless microphone devices that operate in any portion of those frequencies must cease operating on these frequencies no later than July 13, 2020. In addition, users of this device may be required to cease operations earlier than that date if their operations could cause harmful interference to a 600 MHz service licensee’s wireless operations on these frequencies. For more information, visit the FCC’s wireless microphone website at www.fcc.gov/wireless-microphones-guide or call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC).
Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device.
