The URX50 is a bodypack IFB receiver with a built-in speaker, automatic zone switching, better audio quality, and optional web interface control. It's similar in size and look to the URX100, but with a feature set specifically geared for use as a personal IFB monitor receiver that can be used with minimal contact between the user and the sound person responsible for the IFB's operation.
Remote Interface Control
When used with the GUI Bridge (sold seperately) and a TRXCL3 Camera Link as transmitter, each URX50 in WiFi range can be individually controlled from any mobile or device or computer with a simple web app to name units, set individual channel permissions, and much more. The app also works with the URX100.
Ideal for Sanitary Sets
Between the remote control app, simple operation, and stand-alone charger (sold seperately), a URX50 can be handed to a crew member at the beginning of the shoot with no need for the sound mixer to touch it again. The case is easy to clean and disinfect when the unit does change hands.
Automatic Zone Switching
The URX50 can be set to automatically tune to different channels as the user changes zones with IFB voting, which weighs signal strength from up to three seperate transmitters.
Better Audio Quality
The URX50 uses standard Zaxcom digital transmission over standard UHF frequencies for production quality audio for everyone.
The URX50 is designed to work with the Zaxcom TRXCL3 transmitter for full functionality, but is compatible with any Zaxcom Digital Recording Wireless transmitter. The UHF diversity receiver utilizes a tunable tracking front end filter, digital drop-out protection, and two diversity antennas to combat interference and extend range. Operating distances can easily exceed 500 feet (152 m).
The URX50 has a mono headphone output and receives mono and stereo signals. Each unit can be remote programmed for individual users to monitor selected audio at the control of the sound department.
A high fidelity speaker is included on the rear of the unit for monitoring without headphones. The unit can be programed so the speaker function can be enabled or disabled if the headphone is plugged in or removed or the speaker function can be disabled entirely. The speaker can also emit a chirp to help find a lost unit.
The high SPL output headphone driver is ideal for noisy locations and it can drive headphones with as low as 16 ohms of impedance; Zaxcom recommends Halter Technical headphones for best results. Volume can be adjusted using the front push buttons or with the URX1 Lanyard (sold seperately).
Up to six frames of programmable delay allow for proper synchronization of sound and picture while viewing video monitors on set.
Powering the URX50 with three NiMh rechargeable batteries will get you approximately 10 hours of run time and when the day is finished you can drop the units directly into the optional dual bay drop in charger. Three AA lithium batteries will power the URX50 for up to 11 hours and three AA alkaline batteries will power the unit for approximately 7 hours.
