The URX-P03D is a 2-channel analog (with DSP) receiver for high quality sound for ENG/EFP productions. It forms part of a complete UWP-D audio system offering the sound quality of digital audio processing combined with the reliability of analog FM modulation.
The URX-P03D offers wide frequency coverage with up to 72 MHz bandwidth (depending on region) across a wide range of channels. Easy-to-use features include a large display, compact size to fit neatly on any camera, automatic channel setting function, headphone output, USB connection for power supply and line input availability. The receiver also has an external mic input for an additional mono/stereo wired microphone and 3 input mixer function.
The URX-P03D can be connected directly (without cables) to many Sony cameras that support the MI (Multi-Interface) Shoe feature with the use of the optional SMAD-P3D 2-channel shoe adaptor.
Digital Audio ProcessingThe UWP-D Series wireless microphone systems uses Sony Digital Audio Processing to improve sound quality and transient response performance compared to conventional analog wireless systems. It provides superb transient response performance. Analog companding systems cannot accurately reproduce sounds such as a bell, tee shot or handclap, but Sony Digital Audio Processing reproduces them faithfully.
External mic input for additional wired microphone with 3-channel Mixer function The URX-P03D 2-channel portable receiver has an external mic input connector for additional wired microphones. Sony microphones with BMP plug or plug-in power microphones (stereo/mono) are applicable by menu setting. It also has a 3-channel mixer function for the two wireless microphones and one wired microphone. It can assign output 1 or/and 2 freely.
Large display in a small sizeThis receiver is designed to fit even small camcorders or DSLR cameras, with dimensions of 2.48 in x 3.23 in x 1.12 in (W x H x D) and a weight of approx. 7.41 oz (including batteries). The transmitters and receivers also feature a bright 0.45 in x 1.09 in display, significantly larger than previous UWP models to make them easily readable in all situations.
Fast and easy channel scan With its Clear Channel Scan, Active Channel Scan function and IR Sync features, the system detects unoccupied channels and selects the most appropriate channel automatically for fast and easy system setup.
Automatic channel setting mode The Auto Set channel mode allows the user to find and set available frequencies to use within the operating frequencies of the system. The receiver will automatically set the transmitter channel using the IR Sync feature.
Wide frequency coverageThe extra wide switching bandwidth covers a wide area, with a wide choice of channels available across multiple models—please refer to product specifications for more information.
True Diversity reception systemThe UWP-D system achieves exceptionally stable audio signal being delivered from two independent receiver sections within the unit. Optimum signal quality is delivered by the two receivers sections and a comparison circuit constantly pulls the one with the best signal to give dropout free transmission.
Compatibility with Sony 800 and UWP Series analog audio receivers The UWP-D Series transmitters and receivers are also compatible with Sony’s WL-800 Series, UWP Series and Freedom Series, allowing users to switch between different companding modes.
Headphone output for monitoring The UWP-D system provides its own headphone output socket, which is particularly useful when working with a camera that does not have a headphone output.
USB for external power supply or charging batteries The URX-P03 portable receiver has a micro USB terminal for connection to USB external portable power sources. You can also load NiMh batteries into the receiver to be charged through the micro USB.
Robust metal body The URX-P03 portable receiver is made of strong, durable metal for reliable use in rough operating conditions.
Variable output level on portable receiverThe system provides variable output level control of ±12 dB, for use with the various input levels of camcorders and DSLR cameras.
