Sharkie Shark Fin Antenna

The Sharkie is Betso's compact, wideband UHF, active receiver shark fin antenna with Log Periodic Dipole Array (LPDA) structure and cardioid directivity. Its extremely low noise amplifier with easy gain setting is ideal for variable coaxial cable length attenuation compensation in the field. Rock solid mechanical construction guarantees careless functionality both in indoor and outdoor locations.

Ultra low noise on-board amplifier with gain from - 9 dB to + 18 dB
The built-in ultra low noise amplifier allows antenna usage in situations with variable coaxial cable length between antenna to receiver device. The higher attenuation of longer cables can be easily compensated by increasing gain, while zero or negative gain can be applied in scenarios with very short cables and strong receiving signal, so as to not to overshoot input dynamic range of the receiver.

Amplifier can be easily adjusted to any value between - 9 and + 18 dB in the step of 1 dB.

Excellent RF parameters
A Voltage Standing Wave Ratio of less than 1.2 ensures great signal power reception., the very high third-order Intercept Point IP3 >34 dBm provides great linearity, and the industry-leading ultra low noise amplifier IC has a noise figure of only 0.75 dB.

High efficiency input filters for removing unwanted RF spectrum
The Sharkie's high-efficiency input filters help to prevent receiver intermodulation with other sources in bands outside of the main working range of wireless systems, so you can work wihout dropouts in companionable proximity to walkie talkies, FM radios, wireless focus systems, WiFi and bluetooth devices, mobile phones, etc.

Adjustable LED
The seven segment LED display diisplay can autromatically adjusts its brightness according to ambient light conditions for excellent readibilty in the dark or the direct sun. If preferred, the brightness can be adjusted manually.

Top build quality
The lighweight antenna structure is made of glass-reinforced epoxy laminate which ensures great durability in everyday use. The amplifier is made of CNC milled aluminum alloy and is sealed for water-resistance.

Powering
The Sharkie antenna can be powered externally through coaxial cable from a 5 - 20 V DC power source.
