The QT-5100 Incognito by Q5X is a small. light, and comfortable transmitter designed for one of the most demanding environments for sound: the theater. This version adds RCAS remote control function to the unit, allowing a technician to remotely change parameters and control settings without needing to access the transmitter. RCAS allows control and monitor of: on/off, monitor status and battery level, frequency, mic gain, RF power level, and grouping.
Housed in a 2-part splash-proof case, the QT-5100 Incognito is safe against shock, impact, and water damage. Its removable, rechargable battery can get up to 8 hours of charge at 100 mW, so it can last all performance without needing a battery swap.
The QT-5100 Incognito offers approximately 3,000 individual channels between 470 and 540 MHz (tunable in 25 kHz steps), to find just the right frequency in a crowded spectrum. The small size and weight of the QT-5100 Incognito make it a favorite among actors. It's small enough to be hidden almost anywhere, and it's light enough that your talent will barely notice it's there.
This model is compatible with Q5X’s receivers, as well as Lectrosonics UCR and SRC receivers operating within Block 470 and Block 21.
Some versions of this wireless microphone device may operate in portions of the 617-652 MHz or 663-698 MHz frequencies. Beginning in 2017, these frequencies are being transitioned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to the 600 MHz service to meet increasing demand for wireless broadband services. Users of this device must cease operating on these frequencies no later than July 13, 2020. In addition, users of this device may be required to cease operations earlier than that date if their operations could cause harmful interference to a 600 MHz service licensee’s wireless operations on these frequencies. For more information, visit the FCC’s wireless microphone website at www.fcc.gov/wireless-microphones-guide or call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC).
Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device.
