The Cinela Pianissimo is a lightweight windshield with a built-in mount and XLR3 output cable. The mount is designed for specific single mono microphons for the best performance.
The Pianissimo can be ordered with a mono mount in any of the following configurations for customized upon request for most other shotgun microphones shorter than 8.3":
Custom versions are also available with stereo mounts and outputs.
Cinela's cage suspension allows maximum isolation from vibration and handling noise and the lower and upper pieces clip together at six points by simple friction. The Pianissimo's aerodynamic ovoid shape provides high wind resistance. Its primary covering is 2mm thick 3D fabric for effective wind protection and pristine acoustic transparency.
The included long pile fur grants 16-20 dB protection, at the cost of increased weight and and a slight acoustical degradation of 1-2 dB in the lowest and highest frequencies.
For transport, the Pianamissimo comes with a transparent shell made from polycarbonate.
I have 3 of these Pianissimo windshields & they work great outdoors for recording sounds. The 1st that I bought was for one of my 2 Schoeps CMC6 MK41 in a stereo set & was $760.00 & I received the black & grey "skunk" looking long pile fur as shown with really nice looking fur. The 2nd Pianissimo I got was with the MiniCMIT bundle but this time the long pile fur was entirely grey & stringy, "bad hair day", not as nice as the first version. I was expecting the same long pile fur as the 1st version but found out that Cinela makes 3 different versions a black & grey, entirely grey & entirely black. No big deal as I am sure the long fur will still deflect wind noise. I then ordered a 3rd Pianissimo for my other CMC6 MK41 & specified another black & grey long pile fur & the one I got was indeed black & grey but in a similar stringy "bad hair day" fur as the 2nd Pianissimo. It makes sense why the price is less at $715.00 as the long pile fur on a visual stand point looks like a much lesser quality. I'm sure all the long pile fur versions negate wind noise the same, which is the only thing that really matters, but this explains the price difference on why the 1st version was more expensive. The long pile fur picture may be old but great product nonetheless!
