Overview

The M4 MicTrak combines a stereo X/Y mic and 32-bit float four-track recorder in a convenient handheld form factor, featuring time code, two XLR/TRS inputs. an LCD screen with a real-time waveform display,line and headphone outputs, an on-board speaker for quick reference, and eighteen hours of battery life on AAs.

The M4 captures audio with 32-bit float recording, so you're less dependent on gain settings whether you’re recording soft-spoken dialogue or the thunderous sound of drums. Learn more about 32-bit float technology here.

The PRERECORD function captures and saves six seconds of audio before you hit RECORD for unexpected situations.

A built-in NORMALIZE function that will raise or lower the level of your records to optimize volume automatically.

The M4’s built-in time code generator has professional grade .2 ppm accuracy and the two XLR/ TRS inputs feature the same professional grade, low-noise preamps found in the F-Series recorders.

The M4 can also be used as a 32-bit float, 4-in/2-out audio interface on PC, Mac, iOS, or Android devices. Please note that 32-bit float recording is not available when using the M2 connected to an Android device in USB mode.
