Overview

The d:screet 4098 Core Gooseneck is a supercardioid microphone with an XLR connector. It's suitable for podium use, on a table or floor stand, or planting in a car visor and combines controlled directionality with rejection of background noise to deliver excellent sound.

The 8" version is a full-length gooseneck; the longer versions have two flexible gooseneck sections at the top and bottom.

The addition of Core technology to this generation of the 4098 microphone enhances the already great sound. The 4098's dynamic range has been increased by 8 dB, so that the 1% THD is lifted significantly to 133 dB.

With very low noise and a high sensitivity, 4098 Core Supercardioid Microphones offer clear, transparent, and natural sound. The mics are capable of handling extremely high SPL before clipping, which allows the mic to deliver high speech intelligibility even when the speaker gets excited and starts to speak VERY loudly. With a linear response, low distortion and an extremely large dynamic range, these mics sound great no matter how challenging the environment.

In addition, speaking into the side (off-axis) of the microphone doesn’t make the audio sound worse, it just drops the level of your voice.
