The :pulse offers unrivalled time code and metadata innovation in a diminutive aluminum casing, presenting a camera accessory that offers a single box solution to streamlining production workflows. Use the :pulse to generate Timecode Systems’ signature brand of super accurate time code and genlock, sync with zero drift and use the integrated WiFi to share all of this information to multiple iPads. The :pulse was designed to be the perfect partner to the ARRI Alexa, offering users full wireless camera control and status monitoring, access to full metadata and lens motor control conveniently from an iPad or iDevice.
The :pulse has a built in Ethernet/WiFi bridge plus a two port Ethernet switch so you can attach two cameras to one :pulse for 3D rigs.
The :pulse can also use the second Ethernet port to connect a camera accessory such as lens motor controller or proxy recorder (in addition to the camera itself). The second device will act as another Wifi to Ethernet bridge.
Full wireless camera control
The :pulse is designed to support the latest camera protocols including ETHERNET, LANC, USB and SERIAL communications ports and can be used in conjunction with the new free to download iOS app.
The Timecode Buddy: pulse app or the MovieSlate app (with the ARRI Alexa plug-in), gives ARRI Alexa users full wireless camera control and status monitoring, access to full metadata and lens motor control conveniently from an iPad.
First of all, it’s small (94mm x 67mm x 23mm to be exact). It also has a high resolution blue OLED display, flexible mounting methods, USB2.0 Host or USB2.0 Device. Multiple powering options; 9-36V DC LEMO2, 5V USB and PoE on the RJ45 connector. The large capacity Li-Polymer internal battery is constantly charged from any of these inputs and designed to run the unit for at least 5 hours without external power present. On an ARRI Alexa simply connect a single cable for Ethernet/Power plus a Timecode cable and you’re good to go.
Zero drift between units The LTC and GENLOCK generator is soft jammed twice a second via a long-range robust ISM band RF datalink for zero drift between units.
